DMX data is sent out as serial data that travels from fixture to fixture via the DATA “IN” and DATA “OUT” XLR terminals located on all DMX fixtures (most controllers only have a DATA “OUT” terminals). DMX Linking: DMX is a language allowing all makes and models of different manufactures to be linked together and operate from a single controller, as long as all fixtures and the controller are DMX compliant. To ensure proper DMX data transmission, when using several DMX fixtures try to use the shortest cable path possible.http://ecoledesgourmets.com/userfiles/dell-optiplex-170l-bios-manual.xml

The order in which fixtures are connected in a DMX line does not influence the DMX addressing. For example; a fixture assigned a DMX address of 1 may be placed anywhere in a DMX line, at the beginning, at the end, or anywhere in the middle. Therefore, the first fixture controlled by the controller could be the last fixture in the chain. When a fixture is assigned a DMX address of 1, the DMX controller knows to send DATA assigned to address 1 to that fixture, no matter where it is located in the DMX chain. The Design Spot 575E is a 24 channel DMX fixture. The DMX address is set electronically using the controls on the LCD menu. Your fixture and your DMX controller require a standard 3-pin or 5-pin XLR connector for data input and data output (Figure below is of a 3-Pin XLR connector). If you are making your own cables, be sure to use standard two conductor shielded cable (This cable may be purchased from your Elation dealer or at most professional lighting retailers). Your cables should be made with a male and female XLR connector on either end of the cable. Also, remember that DMX cable must be daisy chained and cannot be split. Do not use the ground lug on the XLR connector. Do not connect the cable’s shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLR’s outer casing. Grounding the shield could cause a short circuit and erratic behavior. DMX-512 control connection Connect the provided XLR cable to the female 3-pin XLR output of your controller and the other side to the male 3-pin XLR input of the moving head (Please refer to the diagram below.). You can chain multiple moving heads together through serial linking. This fixture is inserted in the female XLR connector of the last fixture in your daisy chain to terminate the line.Thank you, for helping us keep this platform clean. Multi-voltage electronic ballast.Automated lighting such as moving lights is highly valued by stage lighting technicians as through them, it is possible to create highly complex special effects that simply cannot be made using standard, non-moveable lights. It should be noted however, that when it comes to intelligent lighting, the real intelligence lies with the programmer of the show, rather than the lighting equipment or any operator. Moving head lights, also called moving head luminaires, are highly versatile lighting instruments capable of performing multiple lighting functions at once. They have largely superseded the use of multiple non-moving lights to create special effects, which required many lights and a large amount of skill on behalf of the operators. Moving lights are hooked up to a lighting control console and send data to it in one of three ways a?? through an Ethernet control (a relatively new technology), analogue control (now almost obsolete), or DMX, (which is now the industry standard). So long as they have been properly programmed, the optics of wiggly lights can be altered in many ways, allowing for the a??personalitya?? of the lights to be adapted almost instantaneously, depending on the requirements of the operator. Typically, moving lights will be pre-programmed before a production and controlled using simple commands, although some more experience operators may prefer to control them a??livea??, if they have the experience to do so.

I purchased them through Bill Cronheim at Entertainment Systems. Bill had said they were reliable and free of worries and worked well. After I used them for a few hours, and got used to their capabilities. I realized that the two lights didn't match each other. One Design Spot 575E was having more problems than the other Design. Spot 575E. After obtaining a copy of the service manual (what a joke that is), The sensor board doesn't appear to be long enough.

After looking at the parts list, they have a B version of it. So perhaps there is Wouldn't you know it, the problem Design Spot 575E was the same as the one that had the sensor board During a lamp check prior to a rehearsal, I noticed thatThe belt appeared fine but lose. If they would just own up to that fact and get me my new replacement fixture, I'd be happy as a clam in wet sand. How then do I upload that to a Road Hog and merge it in an existing show. Thanks, Mark Are you running 3.2.5 b.3414? I'm not sure what the shipping library is or where to find it. At this time we no longer have the console, but I'm guessing it is up to date. If you can direct me where to find the library download that would still be appreciated for next time. Thanks Mark I followed the link and found a page to download a Full Library ver. 4.3.187 or an Uncommon Library ver. 4.3.187.

Under each of those is a link listing the fixtures included. While the Design Spot 575B and Design Wash 575E are included in those, the Design Spot 575E is not listed. I have downloaded and tried using the 575B thinking that it would be similar, but it is only a 16 channel library. The 575Es that we use run in 24-channel mode. I also tried going to the Wholehog Library Downloader Site and again there is no fixture library for the Design Spot 575E. I found no fixture library that plainly states that it is for ver. 3.2.5 b3414 release. Mark You are correct, not sure what I was looking at. Once you get the library put the file on a USB stick. Launch into the show you want the library to live. Setup - Shows - Merge Show Follow the on screen instructions Once the merge is complete you should be able to open the Fixture Schedule and patch the unit. Is there anyone else working on these libraries. Thanks, Mark Are you still in need of the library? If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons. The operator has to make sure the safety and technical installations are approved by an expert before taking using this fixture in the field for the first time. Fixed installations must be inspected by a skilled person on a regular basis.

Overhead mounting requires extensive experience, including amongst others calculating working load limits, installation material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all installation material and the device. If you lack these qualifications, do not attempt the installation yourself. Improper installation can result in serious bodily injury. Attachment Instructions. Attach the Omega clamp on the bracket by tighten the M12 bolt on the bracket to the hole in the middle of the bracket. Insert the quick-lock fasteners of the bracket into the respective holes on the bottom of the fixture. Tighten the quick-lock fasteners fully clockwise. Install the second Omega clamp. Attach the safety-cable through the holes on the bottom of the base. Attach to the trussing system or other safe fixation point. Overhead mounting requires extensive experience, including amongst others calculating working load limits, a detailed knowledge of the installation materials being used, and periodic safety inspection. This safety inspection must cover all installation material, trussing, hardware and the fixture. Improper installation can result in sever injury and possible death if struck by a falling fixture. 18 23 Linking Fixtures The SolaSpot 1000 fixture operates on standard DMX512 link controlled by a DMX console. The number of fixtures on a link will be determined by the combined number of channels required by all the fixtures. A SolaSpot 1000 fixture requires a 39 channel footprint on a standard DMX512 link. Attach the fixture to the link using data-grade cable and 5-pin or 3-pin XLR cable connectors Cable Connectors The SolaSpot 1000 fixture accepts both 3-pin and 5-pin XLR cable connectors. Cabling must have a male XLR connector on one end of the cable and a female XLR connector on the other end. 19 24 Connecting to the Link To link one or more fixtures to a DMX controller: Connect the male XLR connector of a DMX Data cable to the controller s DMX Data Out connector.

Connect the Data cable s female XLR connector to the Data In connector of the first (or next) fixture on the DMX link. Continue linking the remaining fixtures connecting a cable from the Data Out connector of each fixture to the Data In connector of the next fixture on the link. DMX Termination For installations where the DMX cable has to run a long distance or is in an electrically noisy environment, a DMX terminator on the last fixture of the link prevents data reflection, which can corrupt the data communication on the link. This DMX start address is the channel number from which the fixture starts to listen to the digital control information sent out from the DMX controller. The setting of this start address is achieved by setting the correct number on the display located on the base of the device. You can set the same starting address for all fixtures or a group of fixtures, or make use different addresses for each fixture individually. If you set the same address, all the units will start to listen to the same control signal from the same channel number. In other words, changing the settings of one channel will affect all the fixtures simultaneously. If you set a different address, each unit will start to listen to the channel number you have set, based on the quantity of control channels of the unit. That means changing the settings of one channel will affect only the selected fixture. The functions provided are described in the following sections.
